In other articles and blog posts we have discussed the conflict of interest that there is inherent in the system. The drugs companies are seeking drugs to treat diseases, and yet they are trying to deliver share holder value.
So what would happen if they could cure a disease or their drug has side effects or simply does not work as effectively as we have been led to believe?
A German research team of experts writing in the British Medical Journal have raised concerns that drug companies are not publishing adverse data from their trials, only publishing data that evidences that the drugs work. And they have called for mandatory publication of all trial data to allow for external scrutinisation.
Whilst there have been undoubtedly great advances in medication over the past century, there does still exist this juxtaposition between making people healthy and profiting from ill health. The drugs companies and the hospitals need people to be ill to justify their existence.
The team of German experts are not the only ones who are raising concerns about the system, a team of doctors and nutritionists agree that we are killing ourselves in the way that we live, check out the video below.
Interestingly enough, at the international convention this year there was a fantastic presentation about the fallacy of life expectancy improving, with one of the major factors in the underlying trend actually being due to better birth control and care during pregnancy and labour.
In short, as much as we value and need the drugs produced by the pharmaceutical industry, you cannot trust them without the right checks and balances, and nobody can be sure of what side effects will become apparent 20 years down the line.
Prevention is still better than cure, and perhaps one of the most interesting things is what happened when the Western diet and way of living has been adopted by cultures in the Far East. The rise in cardiac disease for instance is no coincidence.
MonaVie will help you supplement the quality of your diet, and has been shown to reduce the bad fats present in the blood stream. However, this does not mean that you can live in fast food joints just because you consume MonaVie daily.
Diet and regular exercise are still important to your general wellbeing, no supplement can change this, but with MonaVie you might find your energy levels and recovery times are better and that your body undergoes less free radical damage (remember your body produces more during exercise).
