A recent study carried out at the Wolfson Medical Center in Israel, concluded that taking antioxidants helped to keep arteries healthy, reducing the lipid (bad fats) in the blood stream.

The lead researcher, Reuven Zimlichman, said:

"Antioxidant supplementation significantly increased large and small artery elasticity in patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors. This beneficial vascular effect was associated with an improvement in glucose and lipid metabolism as well as significant decrease in blood pressure."

Although this study did not make use of the acai berry, it does reinforces a scientific paper published about the effects of MonaVie Active. Earlier this year AIMBR published a study regarding the benefits of the Acai berry in the form of MonaVie Active. The research carried out by AIMBR showed that 91% of people exhibited lower lipid production when taking the juice.

It stands to reason that if antioxidant supplementation can do this, then you would want to choose one that has been shown to be more powerful and more of an all-round antioxidant then the likes of green tea or elderberries. Though MonaVie understand the importance of balanced nutrition and have therefore created a product which is not only Acai but complemented by 18 other fruits.

Read my blog posting about David Grotto's book of the 101 foods that may save your life and MonaVie.
