In everything that we do, whether an outright success or a failure we have a learning experience, which we can take onboard for the next time we are faced with a similar situation. By approaching the situation with an honest and open heart coupled with humour it comes across to the person on the receiving end.

The recent Business Startup event was a perfect example, all the members of the team were full of genuine enthusiasm despite having stood for the best part of two days and spoken to a number of people who were dismissive of our offering and dreams (to put it politely).

Positive and Fun

The passion and enthusiasm serves like a magnet for people, who naturally gravitate towards it. At one point we had ten deep rows of people wanting to try the juice and speak to us about the opportunity, we simply could not pour it fast enough (cue mental note for a wallace and gromit type machine for juice pouring), which led to the inevitable spill and mop up operation.

Meanwhile one of the grumpy exhibitors on a neighbouring stand would have been lucky if he had spoken to more than 10 visitors over the two days. In their twisted view of the world they were the life and soul of the party, but they came over and complained about the music on our stand (which we laughed off) and failed to really engage people. If you're reading this you know who you are...

Network Marketing is About the Relationships

The point is this, one of the reasons people join a network marketing opportunity is the fact that it is fun, that they choose to work with you (after all they can't choose to work with their boss or their co-workers). Positive people like being surrounded by positive people, so when you approach someone about your network marketing opportunity ask yourself if you were on the receiving end would you be excited and drawn to you?

Remember network marketing is all about having supportive relationships, it is a team sport that must be played as such, our success is predicated on helping others to have success. Therefore we are also looking for other people that also want to have fun, as well as making money from the generous compensation plan.

You Don't Need to Know It All

One final thought, whilst you need to know about your product and the company in which you operate, you do not need to know it all! Indeed if you do things perfectly it can actaully work against you. What do I mean by that you may be asking yourself...

...simply put, people will ask themselves, can I do that. The more barriers they build in their mind the harder it will be for them to open their mind to the opportunity. My simple response to put people was this, can you pour of glass of juice, can you share that with someone as I'm doing with you now, and could you ask them if they like it. Corey on the other hand would simply ask if they knew two people well that they'd like to share the juice with.

It is when you over complicate things that people get put off network marketing, it is an efficient way of getting a product with a story to market efficiently. The more you know about something the more you want to impart that knowledge, but think of when you were a kid starting in school and your maths teacher first started teaching you algebra. How would you have reacted if he tried telling you it was important for statistical analysis or calculus, you as a mere seven year old?

As that seven year old you would be scarred for life, with a deep rooted belief that you could not do maths, well the same is true if you try to explain everything to someone in the few moments that you spend together. This can be avoided if you stick to having fun ane being positive with everyone you meet and introduce to the opportunity.
