Background

Recently I took the opportunity to visit another part of the team in Reading, to see how the conducted some of their free information seminars. It was a very interesting experience and not what I was expecting.

I thank them for being so welcoming and sharing, even though they do not directly benefit from my success in this business. This article explores some of the excellent points raised by the presentation and the presenter, Andy Tiong and the rest of the team.

Millionaire's Mindset

I will endevour to explain as best I can what I learned from Andy Tiong, a welcoming and friendly man, yet a multi-millionaire. He speaks with passion about this subject, as it is clearly dear to his heart.

When discussing this with a member of my downline, he asked me the question I'm guessing many of you will be asking, why is a multi-millionaire getting involved in network marketing? Andy however gives his reasons by telling a story or two, explaining that it is not having just a big sum in the bank but the ability to replace that with a passive income rather than spending what you have.

The one story that sticks out is that of John Paul Getty, and how he used the underlying principles of network marketing to share in the profits of oil drilling. Those, like myself, who had not heard this story sat transfixed as he described how he gave a large portion of his earnings away in shares to those working for him, telling them to do the same. The key here being that 95% or $10m is less than 50% of $100m, and what he had created was the mechanism by which to share the wealth and empower those working for him to work harder and smarter.

Another concept Andy introduced was predictability, that is to say that in life certain things will follow certain trends over time, and whilst there is some minor element of risk to it, for all intents and purposes it is as close to risk free as one gets. He then applied it to this opportunity and how in fact there was little risk but the massive upside potential as this MLM continues to grow.

Realistically I cannot convey all the learnings an experiences that Andy shared with us that night, so I would strongly recommend other Star Builder members to get out there and reach out to other parts of the team and go along for the experience.

Format & Style

Although the presentation was about the same products, talking about the same benefits using much of the same underlying content, the style and format were different enough for me to feel it necessary to mention it. What it shows to me is that the product and the opportunity mean different things to different people, yet we all feel passionate about it.

One distributor by the name of Terrance relayed the story of his mother, and the amazing impact the product has had on her life. You could not help being moved by the story of how her health has improved, and how he is thankful for having more time with her on this earth and a better quality of time too. The interesting thing I took from that also is that his mother's doctor was so shocked at the improvement of her condition that he is looking to trial the product on other patients. All this from a product that is marketed as a food supplement not a drug.

Though as distributor after distributor got up to talk about their experiences, I realised that I too had been experiencing some of those same benefits but had not even noticed until that point as I had been so overwhelmed by the other profound impacts the product had on me.

The take home from me is that there are multiple different ways of sharing this opportunity, one is not necessarily more right than another. Yet it is the passion of people and their experiences that was infectious.

Conclusion

Take the opportunity to visit other presentations, you will learn not only from a different presentation style, but from other people's experiences of the product and building their businesses. This is important to keep you motivated and fresh, which can be underthreat if you have been presenting the opportunity to people week after week.

The group were very welcoming, and willing to share their time and experiences. For that I thank them, and am reminded once again why network marketing is so different from other businesses, I guess the clue is in the title. For the stronger we work together as a network, the more our businesses will grow and be stable.

I would like to in particular thank Andy, Pete, and Terrance for making me feel part of the family. I would therefore encourage to get out of their comfort zone and make the effort to visit other groups too.
